UDAYAN VIDYALAYA

UDAYAN VIDYALAYA started as a small school for the children of Udayan without a name way back in 1970. It was when we moved to Udayangram and raised a one storey building which had previously been a godown, that it was then finally given a name.

Whilst for decades Udayan Vidyalaya was a school with two mediums of teaching - Hindi and Bengali, recent paucity of funds saw the school revert to one medium - Bengali, as it meant having two sets of teachers which is resource intensive.

There are 6 teachers teaching classes KG to Class IV with subjects including Bengali Language, English, Mathematics, History, Geography and other special interest subjects.

Teacher In Charge

ANUP KUMAR RAY

For over 10 years, Anup Kumar has been at Udayan teaching Science and Mathematics to students.

With a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Bachelor of Education (BEd),he has over 20 years of experience as a teacher.

Previously he was the Head Master of a High School before he discovered Udayan and take placement there.

SECONDARY SCHOOL

Udayan's Secondary Students travel nearby every day to attend Sewli Boys School, Sewli Girls School and Wesley Hindustani High School, which are located close by and provide a good quality of education and quality of care to our boys and girls.

These schools are supported by the government and cater for children up to Classes X and XII.

After Class XII, many of our students enter college to do Bachelor's degrees including BA BSc BCom. A strong number of Udayan youngsters have gone on to good jobs and after studying Bachelor of Education, a number have become teachers in government schools.
